1st Trail Ride

Though I've riding trails with my friends on a mountain bike, today's ride was the first time where we rolled single tracks with a group of more than 10 riders. Though the pace was slow, it was full of track side story about trails. It was a lot of push at the beginning, but after the decent those sweat taking climbs was something to remember with words "It was worth It" :).

Ever since I learned about genuine parts and brands of mountain bikes, I already knew that it will take something to finance my hobby. Other than sponsorships, I knew that I must find other means, options or any other way to continuously enjoy my hobby. Genuine parts at my location are scarce, if you could find one, they either sell it expensive or a second hand deal. Though the internet is flocked with online stores to maximize option in hunting for best deals for these genuine parts. I will be needing the Best Business Credit Cards also.

With the evolution of technology applicable to mountain biking, parts are getting lighter and durable. But as the excitement grows, so as inflation. It is like a tag that says "Prices are subject to change without prior notice". And waiting for the year end sales is always on the list to get the best parts of the current season. If you want to be in pace with the technology, you got to have a good funding. And thank you Lord I found mine! There is my wife who is so supportive, my blogging and my home based small scale business that is giving me the resources that is helping me to enjoy my mountain biking. Though everything is not easy money, I just consider it a challenge that is giving me the reason to value all the outcome of our efforts. :)

I've been using this unknown brand of stem on my mountain bike, and ever since it was installed I never had a problem with its functionality. But over time I was dreamin to have a Thomson or a Raceface stem on my bike to make sure that my parts are designed for my style.

After 5 years with my unknown eagle stem, got a good call for a good old but new model Race Face Diablolous 2 stem at a price affordable than Thomson. To my surprise it is even lighter on my bike than in my pocket. ^^

Looking for a place to park your two wheeled machine and a thrilled rider on a alien city like San Francisco. One may be interested with this so called san francisco vacation rentals list. Though Such city is really and alien to me, I want to try it someday, after all mountain biking is really more exciting on a alien territory. The word exploration gets really used up sprinkled with fun most especially peace and order situation is a two thumbs up. And if you have a web tool such as this San Francisco Vacation rental list, the pain of all after leisure loss coins is a thing of the past.

I always wish that the evolution in mountain biking is not only focus with the machines, ramps, trails and riders but also with everything that is connected to it. As long as it has a significant factor no matter how small. It may be with nature, economic or political factor. If this factors are in pace with the evolution of our sport, then our biking community would not only be a community of bikers but a community of bikers for the community! Just a cool wind of airbnb in the atmosphere!

Missing Route

It's almost a month since the last time we took a ride on one of the best newbie downhill trail in our village. It was a trail that we explored on foot that also bestowed some unlikely looks of nature being raped! Though that part of sight seeing is none of our great concern I just hope that people at this vicinity would realize that this mountain is dying due to rampant illegal logging and "Kaingin".

As for the bikers who had fun on this session, they paid the entrance ticket with a kilometer of push and lift! :)

I have seen this frame before, and I am seeing it again. This kind of bike setup is one of the most awkward and ridiculous setup I have seen. Though looking at it now, engineers of this frame are chasing for the extra torque from the rear wheel as it travels a circular path and pushing the shock at the other end. With physics, they are really up to something. But the looks, it really is a funny setup. It looks like a malnourished cow with protruding pelvic bones. Peace! :)

Today was a lousy day for a trail ride. The trail was too muddy to ride and everyone where sleepy to imagine how our tires will go fattened. It would have been better if it was raining. After a flat tire on short downhill run, we then decided to go to a bakery for a pandesal session at the airport waiting area pavement. With a few chit chats and bunny hopping we had the expected sweat enough awake sleeping beauties!Though today's ride was a bit boring from the start, it all went fun after a few muscle workout with bar lifts. Hoping tomorrow is a rainy morning for a wet and muddy ride! :)

Lost - Season 1

Yesterday was a bit of a wacky finding our way out of the forest. We head to and fro on different directions only to find our way out was a back-trail.

The end of the ride was fun after enjoying some shitty talks on the trail of getting lost plus a chasing daddy cow! The grass where tall and sharp edged. Though I had lots of minor cuts and bruises that hurts, what hurts the most is to see this part of the forest being abused by local farmers!

I just hope that some parts of these forest be preserved for the future generations of humans and animals alike.

Snowboarding

It is always fun and exciting to watch shows at any sports channel that cater shows of extreme sports like the X-Games. Most of the time me and my friends take a tour on the web to watch videos of mountain-biking, but during winter it is not unknown to all extreme games fan that snowboarding is also a spot that worth the wait to watch.Though our geographical location prohibits us to enjoy snow sports, we get to enjoy watching their shows online. Like any other extreme-sports it has the spice of thrill and excitement, the only thing that hinders me to enjoy snowboarding to its sweetest peak, I live on a tropical country. A place where snowboarding is a myth!

Nevertheless we all have our own taste of the dish, and the most important is that we all enjoy our challenging and adrenalin pumping sports, whether under the beating of the elements of the mother nature or in a indoor park for an all weather proof venue for a snake session. And never forget to wear your safety gears
ski helmets for snow sports, full face helmets for mountain-biking and pads as a general purpose safety gears. Because all Dare devils are not invincible!

River Cross

A trail ride is never complete without a river crossing! If this river was a shin deep I would have pedaled my way out, but since it was nearly hips in depth, we decided to carry the earth! The only frustrating part of this session, was the camera man! Damn kid, wait for my outdoor cam and you'll never have to take pictures with this shitty quality, ^_^. But over all the session was fun and worth the extra push we made to the top.

Unwanted Hiking

Today's Biking turned out to be a hiking. Since it was just a usual cruise biking around our village that went a li'l strange exploration. And all of a sudden I had a plush feeling on my front tires!

OMG! I have a flat front tire!!!.

I was to forced to push my bike for the next hour of 2km rugged terrain to home, because of my stupidity of not taking patch kit and pump with me!!!

One Reason I was out of the trails the past few weeks was. I was dismantling Aerox to fit in its parts to HellJr (Kinesis - KD515). And now I am selling Aerox (Mosso - Dual Slalom) to buy a new Fox 36 Vanilla Fork.

I'll be posting HellJr when everything is done. I am still waiting for my bottom bracket tool so as I can continue installing the Race Face Crank set with hollow tech.

After experiencing a very good braking performance from a 180mm disk rotors, I then decided to try the 203mm disk brake rotor. And as expected, this rotor performed better breaking at high speed. Though the rotor is not a valuable brand, its performance was reliable enough.

Rhythm on the Road

It took a month to put this wheel set ready and running due to some technical difficulties. I had to wait for the right type of tubes to be available at the LBS. I also had a difficult time deciding if I should buy my desired tire size even though the available tires are not of the same type. Most importantly I don't have a thru axle fork for the front wheel, that is why I am only using the rear set. ^^

At the first crank, I heard the spokes stretching and scratching side by side. After a few more kicks everything was silent, except for the sweet sound of the pawls inside the hub! And then the rest was a part of history of my fun time....

After a month of waiting and day dreaming I finally have this wheel set for my planned single speed setup. A month from now she will soon hit the pavements of our local airport with the BMX dudes. I am sure she will be an apple of their eyes, a 26 inches single speed setup. I bet Lagum will decide to shift to this rig!!! Yum Yum Yum!!!

First Pinch Flat of 2011

Pinch Flat!!! One of the most disappointing experience one can ever had when you are in the middle of delicious medium to high speed downhill on a rock garden!!! But today's experience is one of the most disappointing phenomenon in my entire cruise biking life!!!

It was already dusk when we head to my usual hiking trail, "but of course, that day we brought our mountainbike with us". And at the climax of the trail and the most delicious part, I was accelerating as I enter the rocky section of the trail at 35 degrees steepness, my chain snapped and my rear tire went puff!!! And after a while while waiting for the other crew to pass after me, Jeby was also successful in obtaining a pinch flat, not only one tear but five tears on his tubes on the same spot!!! The only good part on today's trail ride was, one of the crew brought with him a pack of patch with paste!

30.9 Sit Post

I have been looking for this sit post for 40 years (not literally)! Though the length is not really good for my Trials setup but it is the best solution for my sit post problem! It is an ABR sit post, it is a bit pricy for its brand name but nevertheless a lot of local bikers do support and agree this product is good. So I then pulled out my crappy old wallet and paid the item, went straight home, took some pictures and installed it and zoooom! Went on to do some pedal kicking lesson! ^__^

^_^ Ohh yeah! The next target is the single speed Bontrager hub!!!! Found one at a LBS - Bikelab at Cagayan De Oro City! Though I am a fan of freeride and downhill, I was with BMX park bikers the past few weeks, so I decided to setup my HARO V3 into a trials park hybrid rig!

Though the numbers don't have so much difference, I am still hesitant to change my old Nokian Gazalodi tires. But because nature calls, I am going to try these new Panaracer Fire XC Pro tires. Though I am not sure that these tires are good for freeride, I am going to give it a try since it is the cheapest yet good quality tires available at the LBS.

Just a follow up about my Clark's Disk Brake Rotor.

It is now working as it should, it just need a few abrasion of the pads so as to work fine. Did forget the XT calipers were brand new so us the pads and was mistaken that there was something wrong with one of the brake parts.

It's Nice to be Back!

After two years of undefined mountain biking activities. I finally found an exit route from boredom and routine into the trail and wilderness.

With a few bucks on my pocket the entry was with upgrading my mechanical brake system into Hydraulics! Whooorah!

With a few help from friends and kind hearted bike shop owners, I was able to afford a Shimano Deore XT Hydraulic Calipers with Shimano Deore Hydraulic Levers courtesy of Bisikleta and Corpo Cycle. And due to experimental purpose to prove to myself that Clarks' parts are really good or not, I decided to try their 6 bolt disk brake rotors.

Furthermore please excuse the dirt because, I have just tried my Good old bike under the rain....as usual ! ^__^

I recently bought this Giyo double action air pump from our local bikeshop - Bisikleta, I had to buy one because my centennial pump got busted. And while window shopping this hub series caught my attention and reminded me of my busted identical hub

While this hub caught my attention as a replacement for my hub with broken wings, but then again my decision of buying this part is put on hold because of the fact that I am not sure if Shimano revised the pawls of these hubs.

The other day Zagatrixx and I were surfing the net at the command center for new DH and Freeride Frames, when we came across this video of a female freerider. Wow she's so Darncy Cute, take a pause at the focus and stare to a beauty in a goggle and on a two wheel pedaled machine!

Wow! She's awesomely beautiful! If ever it would come to point of meeting her in my entire biking life and she will challenge me to a race, it would give me a head and heart ache. Why? It would break my heart to see such beauty eats my dust! :D, but frankly coding, I can't even imagine if I could overrun such Vixen, just look at her video! Yeah dude I'm an amateur. Nevertheless, it wouldn't be a sad defeat at all, cruising with such image of art on two wheels is already a pleasure and more than winning a race! Mwaaah!

Countdown to N. Upi

Two more weeks and the climb is up to North Upi. It has been a year since my last visit at the nearest highlands. Its a 31 km of climb from our place. Its a long climb for a single speed chain wheel.

The last time we had a climb it was rough and muddy trail, but since there is a on going road development, there will be a lot of changes on the road up. Hmmm.... What would it be???

Last Saturday night, bedroom is the best haven on the face of the planet. With a cool wind and a sweet rain the pours with the darkness of the night, just like singing a lullaby for a sleeping biker. But such sweetness did not stop me and Zagatrix to go for another warm-up trail ride by the dawn. And I am hoping this Sunday ride will be a permanent weekend ride so as not to loose air for so much comfort on sleeping!

And because it rained the night before, we have this rigs dressed up with mud. Luckily the on-going local road development program helped to keep the mud at a very minimal amount.

Gateway Arch to....

This morning we went back to the usual weekend trail and this time we had a successful roll into kilometer 15, as we slowly climb the steep hill construction is under development, the drainage system and pavements are under renovation and this time for good. All the way to the target checkpoint is so dusty as heavy equipment are climbing and descending for supplies for the on-going construction.

We head on to the old trail were we use to cruise before with Zagatrix's DH rig, and this spot caught our eyes and photo interest! A man made arch, a result of previous quarrying that somehow looks like a tourist spot! ^^ And we had fun taking pictures of us on it (although I'm afraid of heights).

Tour de Mindanao

Early morning last Sunday we had the usual Sunday ride morning, a bit different that time because all was just a series of warm up after months of no peddling. This is the second trail ride and our target was a 15km non-stop.

Sad and happily to say we had our first stop after 2km due to the following reasons:

1. Yop and and Zagatrixx made their sitting position beside the highway and did their first puke! Nyahahaha!

2. Because a battle of Gin still lodge in their heads!

I was ahead of a few hundred meters and took the position at the checkpoint shed! watching how the two drunkards traverse the climb at a distant! ^^

Rendezvous At 5:00am

Wet and Wild Mp3 Player

I've been waiting for a midday rain to test this water proof and shock proof mp3 player from freestyle audio while on a mountain bike at a medium to high speed on a rough terrain. But to no luck no midday or morning rain, since it's been a long week of waiting I decided to test it on a basin of water while shaking it.

The player was submerged for 30 minutes with gradual and alternate shaking as a shock and pressure

As you can see here the player is still lit and functional....

As of this moment I highly recommend this mp3 player to all sports enthusiast who love to take their music with them while in motion! But still I want to try this under the rain on a two wheeled mountain bike.....

Another Neophytes Trail Ride

Last Sunday me and Zagatrixx and a couple of neophytes went for a Rookie climb to North Upi first checkpoint.

Kinesis Dual Slallom

I went to the local bike shop this morning and found this new frame that my friend has been telling me for days, it was really awesome and quite lighter compared to my old Dual Slalom Mosso. This frame cost about US$200 at the local bike shop. Sigh... I have have to find budget for this one, this kind of frames are rare at our place.

This one here is the the drop out of the KD 515, somehow the same with the KD 415 except the dual purpose drop outs and the Bottom bracket has a Integrated Chain Guide mounting tabs.

Revival

I am bit tired and dizzy tonight, while I was on duty at crywolf, I was also busy trying to revive my Deore XT rear hub.! Luckily the assembly was successful.. But not until it is tested! I guess I'll have to re-lace my rear wheel for the test!

Broken Wings

This is my Shimano Deore XT FHM 775 with pawls with broken wings, I'm currently working on how to make it's return spring functional without those broken wings. The wings acts like hooks at the return spring to keep the pawls stay in place while acting as a close open valve.

5 Inches Test

Yesterday me and The Escaper had a trail ride at the Tanghal Quarry it is a trail route we use to ride for a steep slippery and loose rock trail for a few test or practice for a coming game!

I manage to change my front suspension travel and improvised the locking knobs so us to keep the travel length stay as it is. And I gave it a test at this trail.

Luckily it worked well. And the best part I found out that my fork's bushing whispering a worn out signal! T_T

New Gearing Ratio

After the wreckage of my Shimano XT M775 rear hubs, I switch to FHRM65 a non-series hub of shimano that I think will do the work while waiting for a budget for a better pair of hub! I was thinking how to revive this hub. I think I have an idea to make the return spring funtionable without the pawls broken wings!

And while the alignment of of my rear wheelset, I had this road cogs in my closet that send me to try a new gearing ratio. I was using for more than a year this 42 chainring with a mountaibike 9 speed cogs. Now I am using a 32 chain ring with a 9 speed set of road cogs.

And Lastly, I bought this Woodman sitpost clamp today. I've been waiting for this size of clamp for a year now, after buying a frame without a clamp that fits with a 31.8 sitpost.

Busted Shimano XT

I got A busted rear hub. It's shimano XT hub, I bought it last year and I have been using it ever since even under the rain or muddy trails. Haven't opened it for cleaning, so I guess it's one of the reason the pawls are no longer functional!

We had a trail ride last weekend at the back of our village. We use to take a trail here before especially during the Down Hill era. It's my first time to take pictures of the trail ever since I bought my camera.

So much change was observed at the trail. The grass are tall and the track got narrower, an implication that the track was rarely used.

The First Road Trip '09 - "Destination Parang"

Yeah at last! I had the first best mountain bike trip for the year 2009. Me and 8 other mountain bikers went to Parang. A place near the beach (But we didn't go to the beach T_T) and seaport. It was my first time to take a ride with my bike heading to this place. Not much picture because I was the camera man (Always!) but took plenty enough to describe Sir Vals place! ^^

Yesterday me and other local mountain bikers in our village, took an hour trail ride around our village, most of the riders where of 40 and up. It was in a Part of our village where less populated and fresh air and leaves is hanging in the atmosphere!

The Last time we rod the rough trail to Pulangi river, My headset was shaking at instances when hitting a shallow path holes. So I decided to change head set and was able to bought this new headsets, it's not a known brand but I think it will do the work, it's the best one I found downtown. High headsets are out of stocks.

Bike For Peace 2008

The event that took all the eyes of the people around the highway on us, sending message to everyone how the Pinoy mountain biking community in our region is eager to participate on this event for the essence of Peace!

We Started from Notre Dame University, Cotabato City. A few instructions and advice was laid by the priest and other authorities.

The event was tiresome and makes you hunger for even the most simplest meal - Pastil (a rice with fish topings enclosed in a banana leaves). I was very hungry upon reaching the first pit stop that I forgot to take a picture of the pastil, only the rubbish banana leaves was left.

As the bikes and bikers rolled for the next pit stop, after a 30 minutes break of water and food. The road sounded like humming bees!

At the second Pit stop everyone were smiling and saying last 10km and this is over, and we arrived at the final destination at exactly lunch time!

This one is the most memorable of all the pictures I had way back there! ^-^

The last 10km was of these terrain, not much pot holes but so rough, hot and dusty!

These are the few of the authorities who made the event possible, peaceful and fun! The media, the military and other non-government and government institutions.

Bike for Peace

I had my first bike for PEACE last year with the general of the military division that resides in our village and with the archbishop of the nearest city and together with other 300 (if i'm not mistaken) more mountainbikers of Central Mindanao, Philippines it was my first long distance ride with two wheels and two legs.

Recently before the mountain bike challenge at the Midsayap starts the organizer announced the upcoming Bike for PEACE this coming December 1. The good news is it's on Monday, the bad news is I can' t come!

Sigh..... my schedule is stocked to weekdays hoping some schedule will change by tomorrow!

I recently bought this saddle at a local bike shop here for about $35 USD. I decided to purchase this saddle because it's a bit cheaper compared to specialized body geometry which is 3x the price but have almost the same features! I installed the saddle before the race last Sunday so as to eliminate my few problems with my old saddle in a long race.

This one here is a Polar insulated water bottle and a pair of Truvativ Holzfeller pedals. I bought this online for about $65USD + $22USD of shipping. I used my paypal to buy this upgrades and currently I'm saving for a Thomson Elite X4 stems and a Thomson Masterpiece sitpost!

Fun Ride B

After the registration I got my self a number 306 Fun Ride C plate number.

I wanted to take more photos of the people the place and the bikes but the rain was making it's way through the whole course just as the race is going to start, I decided to live the camera at the vehicle to keep it from getting wet and damage! Sad to say just as we finished a li'l parade and around the town and started the race, the rain stopped! #_#

The race was a disaster for me! I found out that If you wanted to win this kind of race, one must be well prepared of at least two months of practice! We were competing with speed and endurance in about 32km race course!

I didn't win under my category, but I learned something on my first race and I had fun and the best part I finished the whole course without getting collapsed or overheat or flat tires and I wasn't the last racer to finish the race! ^___^

My First Competition

I was bit lazy blogging the past few days! But recently I received a sort of invitation for a coming mountainbiking competition at Midsayap. So I was practicing the past few days after the ride from the beach!

This would be my first competition, but I will be in the fun run category. The competition would be a cross-country theme but I will be bringing my freeride rig since I don't have a XC setup.

Hoping to wake early tomorrow for a last practice. The game will be this coming Sunday. Anticipating for a place at the top 10! ^-^

Weekend Special - 1

Last Saturday we were planning for a trail ride at the watershed but with other route, and while the escaper and I were talking about the route, the catfish keeps on playing with his water bottle like a baby bottle!

While we were resting after the first climb the goons changed plan and set the course to the motocross practice course.

And I said FSA!

Here I stand where I can see everything, the catfish, the escaper and the motocross riders who were practicing with handling and climbing!

Catfish: This is to high for a drop! I think I'll have to roll down

Trail Ride To Watershed part 7 - "A Few Good Men"

These are the few guys we met at the watershed having a picnic. Some of them are not unknown to me. We a li'l short with the packed food and these guys gave us some broiled bananas as an additional food for the hungry riders in exchange for a shot of hard liquor that smells like gasoline called tanduay.

After the long post of the trail ride at watershed the reach part 6 I decided to take a break with the post, actually it's not yet finish the last post would be at part seven! ^__^

Last night I made a shopping online at beyondbikes for the third time, it's my largest sum of shopping online so far. It took me 142$ of items and shipping charges. A friend of mine requested me to buy him a rockshox bushing and seal kit that cost about 34$, I added up my items to cut a li'l of the shipping between his items and mine. Originally I wanted to buy that x4 elite Thomson stem and Truvativ Holzfeller pedals, but since the budget was not enough I decided to slash the stem and change it with a insulated water bottle!

The shopping last night was a bit disaster, I forgot to pile all the money in my Paypal account, thus the excess charges was charged to the credit card T_T!

Nevertheless ^^ I'm so excited to have the items at hand and put it on my bike! It takes 10 to 15 days for the package to arrived at hand. I'll take pictures of it and post it here.

Trail Ride to Watershed Part VI - "Tattooed Mem'ries"

After the bit of rest, the Catfish and the Escaper washed their rigs first. I was taking their pictures while they were talking about those cute gals around.
Most of the local tourist present that day were students from a business college at NDU. Plenty of chix and plenty of big and bulky gays (#-#)!
After their power wash, it was my turn to wash my rig and clean it up from muddy shit and stocked twigs and leaves!

After the whole washing session we were reminiscing of the trail ride that we just went through and taking pictures of the place and the people around, while drinking our energy dink called cobra!

Trail ride to Watershed Part 5 - "Rest in Peace"

Upon arrival, I was looking for a way to the best shot of the pumping station, it was prohibited to get near the pumping station so the mission to take the picture of the pump has failed!

But nevertheless I had taken some shots of the peaceful sites!

Here is a footbridge the bridge that connects the other bank where motorcycles can cross and the trail next to this bridge leads the way back home. I've been here many times and the place always change every year! This place is always our escape pod away from the summer heat and noisy city traffic!

Here our bikes were laid to rest and waiting to get a soft hand wash after that muddy trail, while we took a li'l rest while having a snack and drying our wet socks!

On the next part, the people we meet at the pumping station and the local tourist!

Trail Ride to Watershed Part IV - "Wet and Wild"

After the muddy trail we crossed this river and got our shoes and pants wet! There goes the buffalo that made all the muddy shit!

Following this trail will lead us to the pumping station!

The sun was high but the air was cool here! A perfect place for a biker date! Gosh I wish We could stumble over a bunch of girls having picnic! ^-^

Weeeeeee so quite here! All I can hear are birds chirping, bees buzzing and mosquito leaking my legs!

Here is the coconut plantation, farmers here rely very much with coconut and coconut is the most populated plant in this area!

On the next stop would be at the pumping station and the washing spree!

Trail Ride to Watershed Part 3 - "Kiss of Earth"

After The hammering trail at the quarry that looks like a desert of Luth Golein, Here we entered the forest of Kurast, the trail is partly loss rock at the gate but purely mud at the middle and all the way to the river bank!

Cracks on the trails like this one is a result of soil erosion, and are deadly at high speed!

Here Comes the Catfish at slow speed! Feeling expert! ^^ you know why? So feeling he just wore a stupid slipper on this trail ride and keeps on complaining his feet keeps on slipping from the pedal!

Trail Ride to Lomboy Water Shed Part 1

I woke late today (again). I really don't want to rise up from the bed, I wanted to sleep more the whole day. Upon hearing Rada's voice and asking Kelvin to trail ride to Lomboy water shed. It was like a bucket full of cold water splashed all over my body that I immediately got up and asked them to wait up! ^_^.

I asked Rada to join me for a li'l lunch (li'l - a salted egg and a plate of rice) cause he told me that he haven't had his lunch and he just escaped from his mother's eyesight and loved to take a trail ride upon seeing for passenger jeepneys full of business students heading at the watershed for a tree planting. (-_- there goes his sweetness again)So he was a bit interested with those cute girls at the water shed, and partly so am I! ^__^

I had this handle bar for 3 months in my closet I was keeping this one in my closet for some future needs. And currently I need it, I need to sell this one for a monetary support. I haven't abuse this bar, it was just about a week before I replaced this one with a 31.8 Holzfeller bar.

I bought this item from Davao city for about $16. I'm selling this bar for $12 to my co-MTbikers who are into XC. The bar has a rise good enough to be applied with XC setup.

Upcoming Anniversary Mountainbiking Contest

The military division on our area is going to held it's anniversary by end of this month and they are going to sponsor a 2 hour mountain bike trail contest for the military and civilian riders. The registration was about $4.

We scouted the trail the other day to find out how technical the trail was. The trail was not that complicated if you are going to take along with you a freeride rig!

Happily I have a freeride rig, if I will join the contest I have the chance of leaving my opponents behind at the downhill portions, where the trail is full of holes and rocks dug by flash flood during rainy days.

My only problem, a new set of tires and the registration!

Bull Shit!

I was ab it bored today inside the command center, so when sir Paduit asked me if I could come with him and a friend for a trail ride down the river on a new route. I said yes, and hurried on to change gear!

It was only three of us, but upon reaching the point where the new trail starts, a biker who happens to be a friend of ours was also their. So the trail ride was expedite by four riders from the sun! ^^ the start was so bumpy and a whole lot of holes (Expected on a hillside terrain where soil erosion is distinct! At the middle of the trail was a bunch of land mines (Cow and Bull shits). I never mind much those mines, the high speed semi rough trail after a 15 minutes of push push was the climax of the trail!

It was a very fun trail ride for about an hour! And what did I got home? Smiling FACE :D and a bunch of bull shitsssss! ^___^ Just Imagine how I smell and look by the ass!!!

Fox Jersey

Originally this Jersey caused $53 but I bought it for only $31 due to a li'l defect, a small run at the arm which is not very obvious and I found it practical to buy the Jersey at a lesser price! ^^

I tried the Jersey on a 8km Full Throttle to the city, this jersey is good it's like conductive textile, I don't get overheat and the sweat doesn't stay on the textile long it settles at the bottom and dries fast!

Diverted Trip - The Spots

This is me, the author. Still full of energy after a splash of 6 liters of Red Horse beer from last night's good time with friends from the real world.

We made it here at Kushiong two wheels and two legs, it took us a about 50 minutes to arrive here. A bit slow compared to 45 minutes a month ago where I was still in good condition with biking due to a maintained trail rides.

Upon arrival I took most of the time taking pictures of the spots. Something to immortalize and to share to my valued readers and friends who can't be in this place.

A thing with this baby, she loves to play in the sand that she cries when mommy takes her off from the sand that I guess tickles her feet!

And here's the look of the dizzy rider preparing for way back home! Dizzy??? I thought I'm gonna get last night's hallucination from the beer on the beach, luckily I got stumbled over 3 cases of a liter beer with the same tag of color and puff, Welcome to Hell Aerrox!!!

Road Trip to Parang

Sir Paduit ask me yesterday to go with the medical team for a Mountain bike road trip to Parang on Saturday, so this afternoon I grab on my bars for a li'l warm up, climbing up the hills is a good practice for a longer stamina and endurance.

I decided to trail up the winding road going to North Upi as the climb there is long and heavy. Upon reaching the destination, strong cold wind was rushing through the air, a storm was at the horizon. It didnt push me back home, instead I was eager to test my new oils seals under the rain!

The warm up today was not good because of the strong wind, it made me decide to finish the ride after an hour! But the test was a success, the oil seals were working excellent, I can't feel any resistance with the suspension as per expereince before with the original seals of the fork under heavy rain!

Tomorrow I'm goin for another ride maybe at the opposite direction, still climbing trail but tougher because of the rough terrain!

The Trail from North Upi

This is the trail I use to ride down from the upland North Upi, As time pass by the road gets worst and best for a very challenging rough long way down! I still consider this trail best for newbies and are looking for a not so tricky trail. The challenging part of the trail are the shaking rocks and holes, not much jumps or humps just speed and shaking and splashing (Rain here is very usual )!

I promise you guys I'm gonna buy a very good camera for a very good photos!

Dissecting Aerox's RockShox Pt. 2

Here is Aerox lyin' at my now so good work place. Ready to get dismantled for a new oil and dust seal
This is the stanchions as you can see the dripping fork oil is contaminated with water due to the damage seals.
This is the slider, hanging to to get those dirty oil out and drained.
These are the new pairs of dust and oil seal I bought from real world cycling. This part caused $18 but it cost me $44 dollars because of the shipping rate from U.S. to Philippines.
This the cleaned slider with the new oil seal in it. The dust seal is ready for the insertion.

Yesterday Mayor received a text message at her cellphone from her friend at the post office, that a package from US has arrived for me. I was expecting a package from a certain online bicycle store from the U.S., it's an oil seal for my suspension fork. And today I'm gonna dissect the fork the change the oil seals so as to prevent anymore oil leaks during trail rides and to further lengthen the life of this expensive piece of technology at my two wheeled inorganic pal!....to be continued

After Recovering Aerox I found out that the valve cap was missing, so I scoured into my toolbox for some saved valve caps and I found this pare of silver colored nut types! The rocket designed caps were my favorite and as well as the color. But for I have to use this pair of caps because I have no choice at all and it's the only pair that i found in the toolbox T_T

Me, The Mayor, My Brother and 4 policemen went to the subjects house. The subjects were surprised and they were not expecting us. The best part was the negotiation went through smoothly and after a while were able to retrieve my bike without any form of violence!

The was no case filed due to agreement and some cultural reasons that might the case a li'l worse than losing a 5ok wheel!

I said they shall pay for their insolence! One by one my friend contacted me regarding the address and name and other relevant information about the criminal! They wanted to nail him and put all those who he victimized to justice!

The last information I have about the criminal was, he made a migration to the nearest city where they have relatives. He may have escape his judgment today but it's not over yet!

The Gathering fo Storms pt. 1

I was early in the morning when me and my brother where busy linking to friends and people around the village to gather information about the whereabouts of my Mt.bike.

We made a li'l flashback of the events last night, listing peoples who came that time and made a li'l background investigation. One name came up on the list who was new at the place and was rated as a drug dependent and a robber!

Many people pointed this guy to be a topnotch robber and a drug dependent. Furthermore investigation lead us to a positive where about of the bike and suspect. Those people where right, it was positive that the guy named Dats Abdul was responsible for stealing my bike.

At about mid-day yesterday, we gathered information and instructions to how to retrieve my bike. We went to the police station and asked necessary assistance. The police where asking few questions and arranging plans on how to get to the subject.

And that is all that I have now, all those sweet excitement from wet rides at trails around the village, all those bitterness of crashes that I endured that somehow I found a thrill! All those future plans and rides at favorite and uncovered trails and terrains....all those comfort....all those adrenalin pumping....all of those....all of it will eventually be a memory from here till then....

It took me a year too let you stood the ground! It took me another year to make you almost perfect! Sigh....She was stolen last night, and I can't stop myself from thinking about it. I feel so depressed losing something I treasured as a friend! Lifeless she may seem to be. But she's the only one who thought me that pain is merciless! Sigh.....sob....sob....sob....

Aging Dura Ace Chain

My Dura Ace Roller Chain is about to give up! The last time I and the technician checked these chains with a gauge, he told me "It will take only about two weeks of continuous use for these chains to work fine"

I've been using these chains for more than 9 months! This set of roller chain is expensive, but it has served me of hundreds of kilometers of trail and cross country ride without any problem. Right now I'm saving to buy a new one with the same specification. This shimano roller chain is really the best!
