Trimming Weights on your Mountain Bike?

Are you a mountain biker or a cyclist in general? I've just learned from a mountain bike magazine that the first point where to start trimming your rig's weight is at the wheel set!

The weight does not concentrate very much on the hubs but on the parts the are moving far from the rotating center. Yes! the tires, the tubes, the rims! It has something to do with what they call centripetal force and centrifuge. And much more regardless of this scientific basis is the way the products are manufactured. Whether the same brand and same models tires and tubes specially differentiate very much with their mass. Weighing before buying these parts can save a few more pounds to cut some weight from your rig. Try weighing 20 pieces of tubes with the same brand and model! you'll be surprise if you will know the difference!
